Home Monitoring with Raspberry Pi and Node.js

Raspberry Pi is a quite powerful, versatile board and it offers a lot for the $35 price. I bought & configured one for a NAS  +  miniDLNA server and it works surprisingly well. Having an old webcam laying around, the idea of a DIY Home Monitoring & Intruder Alert system came to life. Because I wanted to be able to access the video stream from pc & mobile, I went for an implementation with Node.js and a responsive web app.

Windows Workflow Foundation – Rehosting the Workflow Designer

Country Population Distribution with Wolfram Language

A while ago, inspired by this article Frontiers of Computational Thinking: A SXSW Report by Stephen Wolfram, I looked-up the Wolfram Language. It is described as a very powerful symbolic language with built-in algorithms and knowledge base and indeed it looks quite impressive: you can accomplish a lot with just a few lines of code.
